The last Samurai

This movie are talking about when Japan is in Meiji Restoration, The formation in 1866 of the Satsuma-Chōshū Alliance between Saigō Takamori, the leader of the Satsuma domain, and Kido Takayoshi, the leader of the Chōshū domain, built the foundation of the Meiji restoration. These two leaders supported the Emperor Kōmei (Emperor Meiji's father) and were brought together by Sakamoto Ryoma for the purpose of challenging the ruling Tokugawa Shogunate (bakufu) and restoring the emperor to power. On February 3,1867, Emperor Meiji ascended the throne after Emperor Kōmei's death on January 30, 1867. This period also saw Japan change from being a feudal society to having a capitalist economy and left the Japanese with a lingering Western influence.

After this movie I feel Japanese are so brave, they can suicide when the enemy control the war. And I think Nathan Algren are very cool either, he abandon the techonogy weapon, to help Bushido to fight the war, althoght at the end they all die, but I still think he is very cool.

Climate Change

Climate change is upon us, and the problem is here stay. But it is still in our power - as individuals, cities and government - to influence just how serious problem will become.
In the last twelve months, the climate change debate has taken a dramatic turn. The release of the IPCC Fourth Assessment Report and the Stern Review report on The Economics of climate change. At the same time, it is now less then just 18 month s before nations must agree on a new and fully formed climate treaty under the UN Framework Convention on climate change in Copenhagen in late 2009.

Smash Day!!!! (Mar 4)

Why is a drawing a sketch an important part of the scientific method and why do you always neglect this step!?!?
Drawing a sketch is important because it can make your idea get more clear, like you can draw or write it out your opinion, so if you forgot your idea, you can look at your sketch, and if you have more idea, you can add on your sketch, so it is important and useful.
The reason why we always neglect this step is because we are too irritable when we did our work, anyways we don't have enough to did our work, so we just skip sketch part, to make working time longer.

What happened to Jaguar Paw ?

We watched a movie call Apocalypto in class, at the end Spanish came in, and Jaguar Paw, his wife and two kids walked in to forest.

I think after they walked in to forest, they will start to make his group back, and then try to walk far away to spanish, and don't let mayan people and spanish catch them. So maybe 10 years after, Jaguar Paw's two son be a man, and take lots of wife, and his group will be powerful after 1 century. Then they can bite mayan people and Spanish. Then they start to use guns or something are very technology to capture other country and make Aztec civilization bigger and bigger.

200 years after, Aztec civilization is the biggest country in the world, they control all Europe and have 639403924 of people in Aztec, and all the people have to prostrate Jaguar Paw everyday, that's the religion in Europe.

But in AC 1800 there is a country call Taiwan, they throw two atom bombs in Europe, and all the Aztec people all sick and die.

Mayan Technology vs. Mesopotamia civilization

similar -
Both of civilization had closer geography, and they both had a king to control commoner, so commoner will not rebellion.

different - Although both of civilization had king, but there rules had kind of different, like Mayans king = priests, and only priest were allowed inside of the temples.

News of Obama

President Barack Obama, soon after his inauguration Tuesday, sought a delay in tribunals for inmates at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, to allow a review of the process.
Military prosecutors asked the court to order "a continuance in the proceedings" to May 20, The Washington Post reported. The motion was made in the case of five men charged with masterminding the Sept 11, 2001 terrorist attacks.
Prosecutors made the same motion in the proceedings against a young Canadian. That case was scheduled to resume Wednesday.
The military tribunal procedure was created by the Bush administration to deal with what official said was an unprecedented situation. But the tribunals have been subjected to long delays and revisions in legal proceedings going up to the U.S. Supreme Court.
The new administration could opt to try the remaining defendants as criminals in U.S. court or in military courts-martial as war criminals.

I think Obama is a good president and his decision is great, because he is trying to lessen prejudice by making all criminals are treated the same in the same courts. I think this plan will work.

smash Day!!!! (Jan 4)

Today is smash day, we played marble and tried to made highest score, and the prize is two free answer on next test.

I think I'm active learner because I learn some of knowledge in this game, like the angle of incidence equal the angle of reflection, and we also played a lot, so thats why I think I'm active learner.

I also think I'm a critical thinker and problem solver because in our group we think lots of idea to make the highest score, and we have lots of discussion, although in the end we didn't win the game, it still very fun.
